Recent Revenge Porn Incident

Last month, two young women in College Station, Texas, were arrested and charged in an incident that involved revenge porn on a session of Facebook live. The photos in question that were displayed during the session involved a girl who was under 18 years of age at the time, who was engaging in a sexual act.

The individuals charged were Terica Thurmon (age 24) and Michaela Woodlee (age 25). The criminal offense at issue was for “promoting or possessing obscene material depicting a child who was under 18 years of age.” The victim in the case has indicated that the photographs in question were taken when she was 16-years-old and while in high school nearly ten years prior. The photographs also depicted the victim’s ex-boyfriend from high school.

Ms. Thurmon had allegedly threatened, posted, and shown pictures of the victim engaging in sexual acts during the Facebook live session and on her Facebook page. The victim also indicated that she had no idea how Ms. Thurmon was able to obtain the pictures which she allegedly posted on Facebook.

Ms. Thurmon stated that the other individual who was arrested (Ms. Woodlee) had actually posted the photographs in question onto Facebook. However, Thurmon did admit that she had the photographs in her possession and showed the officers her phone. The victim had indicated the incident began after an argument between her and Thurmon that had taken place on January 18, 2020.
