Texas Veterans Gather in Austin to Call for Marijuana Reform

Possession of even a small amount of marijuana is still a crime in Texas, despite urgings in recent years to decriminalize cannabis for medical and recreational use. In fact, Gov. Greg Abbott signed a limited medical marijuana bill earlier this year, but the new law is not expected to help everyone who would medically benefit from use of marijuana.

Poll Shows Majority of Texans Support Reduced Penalties for Marijuana Possession

The penalties for marijuana possession in Texas are some of the harshest in the nation, especially when you consider that 19 states and the District of Columbia have decriminalized possession of small amounts of cannabis.
