Pretrial Process Travis County

Gathering Information

Once you are booked into the jail facility, you will be placed on a list to be interviewed by a pretrial services officer from the office of Pretrial Services. This office "provides qualified defendants an opportunity to be released" from jail.

We are available 365 days a year to do the necessary work to get you out of jail ASAP.

During this in-jail interview this office collects information from defendants regarding residence, employment and personal references. References are telephoned to verify the defendants' information. Criminal histories are checked and summary reports of the charges for each defendant interviewed are collected and reviewed. In the event of a victim crime such as assault, a personal face-to-face interview with the victim is required by the pretrial services' investigation. This office conducts thousands of interviews of defendants every year and sometimes as many as sixty or more in a given day. Conditions for each defendant's charge need to be assigned to the defendant's bond. With all these necessary tasks to perform, it can sometimes take days to be released on your own recognizance. If you hire us to get you out by calling 512-474-9999, we can expedite the process of obtaining a personal bond by filling out the forms and taking the directly to a judge for authorization.
